Stickvania is a browser-based remake of Konami's Castlevania with stickmen graphics used for every art asset in the game. Purists will cry foul when they discover that our vampire-slayer can stop moving in mid-air while performing a jump, but most of the level layouts, enemy designs and boss battles will feel very familiar as they've been replicated here with some degree of faithfulness.

You'll need a Java-enabled internet browser to play this game. There are reports that the full screen mode can cause the application to crash when switching back, so you might want to avoid using that feature just to be on the safe side.

This was fantastic . Loved the stick graphics . Simply beautiful .

Java? 1995? Have been keeping up to date on the software engineering industry?

Ah, doesn't seem to work for me. I have latest Java, running on Firefox. Starts loading, then just goes all black and nothing brings it back to life. Oh well...

Now this is what I call (games as ART)

As soon as the music kicked in I had that feeling .. Like I was a kid again

I couldn't see the colors and I imagined everything myself. All the sprites, castle, wallmeat..

;_;

That's a pretty slick stick game. Graphics are so simple but plays with memories and imagination.

lol @ Java. While he could be porting this great game to (for example) Android in about 3 seconds flat, I'll continue to code in Flash and Multimedia Fusion for people that demand their multimedia player of choice to appreciate what I do.

game feels quite easier than the old Castlevania. Seems like you take less damage.

@Gutter

Umm, Java is multi-platform as well, so I'm not quite sure of your arguement against it. It's big issue is that it's slow for gaming, but so is flash. Flash however is easier to learn.

Cool stuff! Plus it is well-balanced : I have finished it whereas I have never been able to beat the original one.
