4. Pylo Noveau

Pylo Noveau is a 2D platformer created using the Game Maker engine. You play as Pylo, a dragon with fire-breathing ability that can be further upgraded whenever you collect a red gem. Any jewels you collect also allows you to use special powers that can either reveal secrets in a stage, heal Pylo, or even hurt enemies in a myriad of ways.

"The Pylo series isn't so much a series of games as a series of remakes. I've been working on this game in various forms for years. Before this current game (which I am sure will be completed), I made two other versions: The retrospectively retitled Pylo Oldeau, which some have seen, and the even-older Pylo Journey, which is completely embarassing and has never been released. In Pylo Journey's case, the file got corrupted somehow and I lost some levels and decided to redo. For Pylo Oldeau, I just worked so slowly on it that by the time I was making world five I was dissatisfied with how inefficient my older stuff was. I kind of outgrew that game, I guess. And that's when Noveau was started.

My team consists of myself and Omnilith so far. I do most of the work, but Omnilith helps out by doing some of the graphics and providing design support. He also helped me with the story and wrote a lot of the story dialogue. I hope to get someone to make music for the game so I won't have to use other game's stuff, but I'm not in a huge hurry to do this. I just know I will need to do it sometime before final release.

The last demo released contains about 20% of the game's content. There are going to be five worlds of the same length as the first and a sixth world which is two levels long. I have no release date set and do not plan on one, as I work at a variant pace and can never tell how much I'll do in a certain timeframe. Hopefully, though, I will have the next demo out before too long. I'm not working on any other games at this time, but I do occasionally make small side projects, which have contributed to how long it's taken to make this much of the game. I hope not to get too distracted by any of these, though. Pylo is my most important project and I will finish it!" - Grit
