Self Destruct is a vertical shooter with randomly generated enemy patterns. Gameplay revolves around the shield, where players can absorb most of the bullets heading their way and use them to power their own gun. Nukes can also be used to clear the screen of all enemies and bullets. The goal of the game is to survive for 250 enemy waves.
An online highscore table included, which is available in-game by pressing left or right in the menu.
"It's actually my first ever shooter! The original plan was to have bosses, lots and lots of them. But I totally underestimated how much I could do in one day, so I ended up with a shooter with just wave after wave of enemies. The whole point of the game was to try making a one-day project, just to see how much I could do - from that perspective, I couldn't be happier with how it turned out." - Terry
"Well, I think one thing that would be fun to mention was how the game was pretty much almost submitted without any of my graphics (laughter). I really liked working on it, and I'm glad everyone liked it as much as they did!" - Annabelle

The Independent Games Festival will return in March 2011 at GDC in San Francisco - look for more information soon. [More information...]
